About STCC

STCC is one of Europe’s best-known national racing championships and enters a new era in 2027 with modified GT production cars. Since its inception in 1996, the championship has been a central part of Swedish motorsport and an arena where some of the country’s leading drivers, teams and car manufacturers have competed for the Swedish circuit racing title. STCC stands for explosive, physical and adrenaline-fuelled racing, where tightly packed grids, fine margins and fierce battles create action from start to finish. The combination of well-known car brands, professional teams and racing at some of Sweden’s finest circuits has made STCC one of the country’s strongest motorsport brands. Over the years, STCC has attracted established international names while also serving as an important platform for Swedish drivers on their way to international success. Jan ‘Flash’ Nilsson, Mattias Ekström, Thed Björk, Johan Kristoffersson and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky are among the drivers who have competed and left their mark on the championship. The next chapter in STCC’s history begins in 2027 as the championship introduces GT racing and the internationally established GT4 regulations — featuring spectacular race cars from several of the world’s leading sports car manufacturers and a clear connection between the cars on the circuit and the models on the road.
